A tour of one of the unknown areas of Venice where we will find the unique jewish quarter in venice, considered the Ghetto oldest in the World. We will visit one of the most traditional neighborhoods of the city, the Neighborhood of the Mercy, away from the hustle and bustle of San Marcos, and where the venetians continue to carry out their lives cotidinas.

Tour description

Our tour begins in the country of San Geremia, from there we head to the doors that give access to the Jewish quarter, widely regarded as the first Ghetto of Humanity and where it still resists a jewish community that manages all of the locals of the area. In the neighborhood you will find the Museo Ebraico, the Bank Rosso (the oldest in the World), the Synagogues, German, Levantine, Canton, Italian and Spanish, in addition to numerous local and Hebrew as the restaurants are Kosher food, bookstores, and shops of jewish art.

  • Field of the Ghetto New: Synagogues Italian, Germany and Canton, Museo Ebraico, Bank Rosso, Reliefs of the Concentration Camps.
  • Stones of Memory.
  • Channel Ormesini and della Misericordia.
  • Field of Mori and House of Tintoretto.
  • Well the Field of San Marziale.
  • The church of the Jesuits.

Duration of the Tour

Approximately 2 hours.

Meeting point

You will find us in the Field of San Geremia, a 10-minute walk from Santa Lucia train Station, the guide will be a RED SIGN with the word ÍTAKA and accredited tourist guide.

Important Aspects

  • In the tour does not visit the inside of monuments, the visit will be made by the outer part of the same.
  • We do not allow groups of more than 6 people, although they have made reservations different. Groups of more than 6 will have to opt for a tour of payment. The guide may refuse to accept them on the tour in the event that there are more than 6.
